WILLIAM LARRABEE
President

In 1984, William (Bill) Larrabee founded Larrabee Ventures, Inc. (“LVI”) to serve the financial and strategic development needs of the electronic security industry.  Previously, in 1973, he founded American Home Security, a startup security alarm company.  In 11 years its revenues grew to more than $4 million with annual recurring revenue in excess of $1.5 million when he sold it in 1984.  Prior to American Home Security, Bill was a Principal in the management consulting firm, Theodore Barry & Associates, and headed the General Management Consulting Practice.

Since its founding, LVI has assisted clients in more than 200 acquisitions, more than 150 financings, which raised more than $325 million in debt and equity and more than ___ consulting engagements. 

Bill was co-sponsor, investor, and a director of Protection One. Now as a public company it has more than $370 million in revenue, $24 million in Monthly Recurring Revenue and 75 locations.   He was also a sponsor, investor, and director of Alarm Security Group.  And, in 2001, Bill served as CEO of Alarm Security Group and arranged for the sale in 2002 of the $20 million revenue, 30,000 monitored account security alarm company.  Bill also led the turnaround and sale of Viking Electronic Services, a fire alarm manufacturing company in 2008.

Bill received both a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (“MIT”), and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.


MICHAEL C. CARTER
Managing Director

A Managing Director for Larrabee Ventures, Inc., Michael Carter has twenty-five years of executive management and consulting experience in the electronic security industry.  He has worked with Larrabee Ventures on numerous engagements over the last ten years, focusing on marketing development, strategic consulting, and transaction execution for clients.

Michael’s  experiences include the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies for a variety of companies including a stint as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Viking Electronic Services.  He also played a major role in the investor search, preparation of investor presentations, and the sale of that company. Prior to that, he was an investor and founder of Alarm Security Group.  In 2001, during the turnaround phase of Alarm Security Group, he assisted in the turnaround of troubled branches, developed investor presentations, and assisted with its sale.  Prior to that at Wells Fargo Alarm Services, as Vice President of North American Sales, he reengineered the 650 person sales organization and at SecurityLink from Ameritech as the Director of Residential and Commercial Sales he developed SecurityLink’s national residential sales program.  Prior to that Michael had extensive experience in developing advertising and marketing campaigns for many products and services for business-to-consumer and business-to-business markets.

Michael has developed marketing and sales plans, business plans and financial projections. He has presented to private equity and venture capital groups, bankers, strategic and financial buyers and sellers.  As an executive he has managed fold-in acquisitions, developed and executed internal sales growth strategies, and participated in turnaround management engagements.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado.
